According to NHK TV channel, by the mid 2030s, the Government of Japan intends to strictly regulate the domestic market in order to exclude vehicles with gasoline and diesel engines from sales.
According to the plans of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, only hybrid, electric and fuel cell cars will be available for purchase. The strategy aims to completely stop carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
At present, there are enough models with hybrid engines on the Japanese car market, while electric cars are produced in limited quantities in Japan.
